TRI-POWER-PERFORMANCE NEWS

June 13, 2011 - Harley and Ken attended the Pontiac Southern Nationals car show in Addison on Saturday where Harley took the GOLD award and Ken took the SILVER respectfully.

The Races on Sunday at the Texas Motor Plex were a lot of fun and Harley made the final round in his 1960 Catalina and ended the day with a red light against our good friend Tom Reeves. Congratulations to Tom on winning the Tri-Power class. A special thank you to all of the DAPA members who give of their time and energy to put on such a wonderful weekend event. Thank you so much for all you do!!

"Raven Warrior" is ALIVE and kickin' again after seven months of disassembly. We will be attending the PONTIAC SOUTHERN NATIONALS, sponsord by the Dallas Area Pontiac Association on June 11th and 12th. The engine is out of "Raven Warrior" for some freshening up and replacing of faulty freeze plugs. I hope to have the car back together for the spring racing events.

We traveled to Wichita, KS. for the Pontiac Indian Uprising car show and drag race. Ken received a plaque for the car show with his 1961 Pontiac Ventura. Harley competed in drag racing until a faulty freeze plug blew out of the block and ended his day on a bye-run in the 4th round with a near miss of the wall!!! WHEW, the Lord was looking out for the car and I today!!

Attended the POCI convention in Charleston, West Virginia. Happy Anniversary to the 1960 Pontiac!

Harley WON the Race of Champions at Texas Raceway in Kennedale, Texas in his 1960 Pontiac Catalina!!!

Plans are underway to attend the POCI convention in Charleston, West Virginia for the 50th Anniversary of the 1960 Pontiac! Hope to see y'all there!!

Attended the Pontiac Southern Nationals hosted by the Dallas Area Pontiac Association. We had a wonderful time with 93 cars at the show on Saturday. Ken received the GOLD award for his 1957, 2 door Star Chief and Harley received the SILVER for his 1960 Catalina.

The drag races on Sunday were hot hot hot, but proved to be a great day for Harley in the 1960 Catalina (Raven Warrior) as he WON the Tri-Power class!

Harley and his 1960 Catalina participated in the Texas Muscle Car Club Challenge at Kennedale and WON the Race of Champions!!!

HOT CHIEF #1 did it!! Dad turned a 12.90 at 103 mph at the Texas Motorplex with the Hot Chief! Way to go DAD!!!

Attended the POCI co-vention in Dayton, Ohio last month. My father came away with 3rd place in the popular vote race class! Congratulations!

We attended the Texas Muscle Car Club Challenge at Texas Raceway in Kennedale, Texas and Harley made the final round and took 2nd place in his black 1960 Catalina to Marty Parker, also running for the Dallas Area Pontiac Association who was the winner in his 1966 GTO. Great Job guys! We will see everyone next spring!

We attended the Texas Muscle Car Club Challenge at the Northstar Dragway in Denton, Texas. Representing the Dallas Area Pontiac Association, Harley came away with a 3rd place finish for the day in his black 60 Catalina. GREAT JOB!

We had a great time attending the Tri-Power Nationals in Norwalk. We ended up taking my 60 Catalina as mechanical problems plagued our 62 Super Duty. The weather was nice and big thank you to Pete Woodruff and everyone who made the event something special!

Preparations are underway to attend the Tri-Power Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio on August the 8th, 9th & 10th with our 1962 Catalina Super Duty. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Tri-Power-Performance just returned back from the annual POCI (Pontiac Oakland Club International) convention and drag race in Spearfish, South Dakota with a 1st place trophy in the popular vote category with the 1960 Catalina "Hot Chief." Congratulations to my Father, Mother and my son Nolan!
